Many websites online are promoting online methods to building your network marketing business, that will overcome all your difficulties.

Whilst it will solve most of the problems, you can't escape that Network Marketing is all about personal relationships. Personally I don't think there can be a substitute for actually getting on the phone with a prospect or meeting them face to face. You couldn't hide behind a computer and gain maximum success.

There is no doubt that for those who want to connect with people on a more personal level, the internet can be very useful for this. You've got email, video, webinars, audios etc.... Personally I'm all for picking up the telephone and calling someone who wants to join my business, I find it far more effective than shooting emails here and there. If you have poor MLM sponsoring skills then internet or not, you will probably have a problem growing a large team, unless you are fortunate enough to recruit some heavy hitters.

So what can the internet help us with right away in our business? Well it can help us generate leads and cash flow that's for sure.

The first thing that you're going to need in your online mlm toolbox is a sales funnel system that is proven to work. You will find many different ones to choose from and not all are designed for network marketers, I think a lot are designed for affiliate marketers. Use a system designed by someone that knows how to sponsor, someone that is actually a network marketer. This way it's more likely to be effective.

A successful system should be brand able to you, and you only. From the very first time someone lands on your page they need to start becoming familiar with YOU, not the guy that designed the system and not a company.

If you manage to get your system set up and working then the next thing you need to sort, is traffic, how are you going to generate regular visitors? The number one reason that people fail online is probably a lack of quality targeted traffic. Many can't get any traffic at all. There are really only two ways to go...you pay for it, or you work for it. When I started marketing online, I couldn't afford to pay for traffic, so I worked for it. It's up to you where you get your traffic from, there are online & offline methods which are proven to work.

Once you've mastered generating lots of traffic you should be getting some leads. Its then time to work on optimizing your sales funnels to increase and maximise your conversions.

Obviously the next step is to begin generating a cash flow from your sales funnel. using such a system you could actually make money from people even if they are not interested in your main business, from affiliate products that you could offer. The ultimate aim though is to get as many of your leads to sign up into your MLM business as possible.

To achieve this you are going to need personal relationship and recruiting skills.

Yes you can certainly use the internet to develop your business providing you put in that personal human touch as well.
