Most enterprises have installed an Enterprise Content Management system within the last 5 years. Some are small departmental deployments whereas others are enterprise wide. Popular ECM platforms provide excellent core content management functions but often fall short of the demanding requirements of the more technical parts of the business. FusionEnterprise is a specialist Content Application for your Capital Projects and Operations that works hand-in-hand with your current ECM platform.
The content generated and used by FusionEnteprise is stored in your ECM platform and can be searched using your Enterprise Search and Business Intelligence tools. FusionEnteprise adds a rich set of Engineering Content functionality that applies across the whole spectrum of your asset lifecycle.
Without a solution like FusionEnteprise organizations often need to invest in significant tactical customizations to their ECM platform and incur a heavy total cost of ownership to maintain them over time. FusionEnterprise reduces the total cost of ownership because it is a solution based upon standard application software.
FusionEnterprise has been specifically designed to manage engineering documentation in the context of a construction project or operating plant or facility. It enables organizations to automate everyday document control operations and document-centric business processes using a standard web browser. These modules integrate seamlessly with the native ECM platform, allowing project participants to work in a familiar environment while lowering implementation costs and eliminating the need for extra training time
Project Management Integration: FusionEnterprise is able to generate a folder structure based upon the work breakdown structure in your Microsoft Project Plan - this allows you to track projects down to package or document level.
Document Lifecycle: You are able to define document lifecycles for different document types and then track and expedite documents against each lifecycle stage. Progress can be rolled up to package and folder level to allow you to link to project WBS. FusionEnterprise provides automatic document number generation as part of the lifecycle process.
Transmittals: FusionEnterprise allows you to automate the Incoming and Outgoing transmittal processes. All aspects of transmittal generation, letter creation, approval, dispatch and acknowledge are handled by the system.
Document Distribution: You are able to configure Distribution Matrices and Distribution lists to support the concurrent execution of multiple projects. Serial and/ or parallel distribution is supported together with paper based circulation.
CAD Drawing Management: FusionEnterprise integrates directly into AutoCAD and MicroStation to allow your design and drafting personnel to interact with your ECM directly from CAD.
Document Relationships: Users can quickly view all documents related to a physical tag. Design drawings are linked to associated vendor documents.
Alerts and Warnings: Proactive visual alerts are displayed when users access documents that are subject to change or flagged in some manner as requiring a warning to plant level personnel.
EAM Integration: FusionEnterprise integrates with your Enterprise Asset Management system to enable two-way information exchange to support work Order management.
Concurrent Engineering: Multiple copies of a document can be made and concurrently changed. FusionEnterprise keeps track of the changes to support the eventual merge and consolidation.
Document Viewing, Markup and Approval: FusionEnterprise provides a document viewing and markup capability that is built directly into the FusionEnterprise web application. This allows users to review and approve documents without needing the native application installed on their workstation.
Workflow Management: FusionEnterprise provides a graphical workflow modeling and monitoring tool that allows you to automate your business processes with the system. Any number of workflow processes can be automated with the system keeping a full audit trail of all workflow actions performed for compliance purposes.
Change Control: Users are able to very easily flag potential changes directly from their web browser and FusionEnterprise will initiate a change request process. FusionEnterprise automates the various stages of the change process and provides alerts to warn users of pending change.
Batch Import and Export: FusionEnterprise allows you to pre-load documents as placeholders during a project and bulk index documents from are sent from design teams or external vendors. You are able bulk export documents complete with selected metadata as part of a turnover process.
PDF Generation: Fusion is able to create PDF renditions of documents that are part of the document lifecycle process. By default, users will access the PDF rendition of a document rather than the native copy.
Sword CTSpace provides engineering document management, collaboration workspace and collaboration workflow applications for the construction and engineering industry that in- crease the efficiency and reduce the risks in managing a built asset during its entire lifecycle.
