It goes without saying the phone you have in your pocket will become outmoded, that's simply technology as well as the world we are now living in. If you're an on-the-go, technically savvy person, it's likely you will need upgrading at some time, it's predicted and manufacturers be determined by it. Once you have made that decision, what in the event you do with your old phone? Toss it within the trash; create it for anybody you like?
Many of us understand that throwing last year's phone inside the trash is detrimental for the environment, allowing toxic chemicals to leech in to the soil, why don't we concentrate on other ways to recycle. Data tells us the average value of a classic phone is about $30, which collectively results in huge amount of money (actually more than a billion) in discarded products. What can be done from it and may this be transformed into cash?
With this much money either relaxing in drawers or serving as expensive paperweights, ingenuity will surely find a method to make revenue which is precisely what happened. Multiple companies have formulated recycling centers devoted to acquiring old phones (and may even purchase yours), then either sell the recycleables, use the parts to fix other phones or increase the risk for discarded phone open to consumers buying particular model.
A business has sprung from this and their primary job would be to recycle discarded cell phones for charity. Naturally both charity and company are receiving revenue, so it's a win/win situation. Consumers (people that have outdated phones) can donate their phones to a good cause (possibly receive a tax write off), which generates not just revenue but social value as well.
Perhaps this is news, or perhaps you're already aware of the method. There are multiple websites built to connect those with old phones with companies who want to get them. The process is straightforward, you'll go into the brand name, click the submit button, and be presented with the value of your old phone.
At this time you'll evaluate if you want to proceed, if no, you're not obliged to continue; if yes the organization sends a pre-addressed (often prepaid) package accustomed to outline your old phone. Once received and processed, your designated payment (often a organization check) will probably be provided for your address, total time around 30 days.
Other alternatives include auctioning your second-hand phone on eBay (or other auctions); placing an ad on Craigslist, etc. While those are valid options, there's no assurance of a sale; while recycling companies (assuming your phone is at working condition) will guarantee a specific sum of money. If you are doing decide to go the auction route, having the original packaging along with a scratch free phone will boost the value.
Irrespective of your final decision, recycling, auction, or giving to charity, you will find there's a great number of choices letting you have money, while also being helpful for the environment.
We need to take care of this planet. We wont get another one. Its important to realise that the damage we are doing, for the most part, cannot be repaired.
