The Stressful way of living in the current society causes Chronic Fatigue to be a part of our everyday routine. We usually blame it to a lot of tasks that we need to perform everyday. But have we ever thought of the food we eat to contribute to the increasing case of Chronic Fatigue today?
To differentiate acidity and alkalinity, we have to classify and know them first. Alkali is a water solution containing more hydroxide ions than hydrogen ions. Its bases are compound with a pH greater than 7. Acidity on the other hand, comes from acid; a chemical mixture which has a pH of less than 7.0 and, when it’s dissolved in water, it produces a compound with a high hydrogen ion activity.
When we consider the fact that what we eat or consume produces either alkaline or acidic bases into the bloodstream, and the knowledge that the human body gets best performance at a pH level between 7.33 and 7.4, it is factual to state that a diet that leans towards alkaline foods makes the most sense when we are looking to have optimum health. Another thing is that our body is composed of more or less 75% water.
Acidic bases in water usually leaves an acidic residue that can make the body function slower causing tired feeling and occasionally shuts down that system altogether. Unlike Alkaline bases which dissolves and easily absorbed by water. Another thing is that, when the pH level goes below 7.0(acidic) the body will automatically find ways to counter it. The body will make use from internal alkalinity foundation. It gets minerals such as potassium, magnesium or calcium which it will extract from the bones. This occurrence can cause the body to consume more calcium, thus depleting it and causing osteoporosis. Another problem that you can get from eating acidic food is Plaque. Plaque can take the form of plaque on the teeth.
Being highly acidic is famous for attracting the development of bacterial and viral infections which can be prevented if we cautiously observe our pH balance. Bearing all of these in mind, we will find alkaline diet to be absolutely reasonable; the only thing is that the average diet that we are accustomed to produces high levels of acid. This is the kind of diet that we are familiar with and which will be challenging to overcome, but once we get accustomed to it, has proven to improve our overall health.
Two ways to regulate pH balance is first, reduction of the consumption of acidic foods and second, eating more alkaline-rich foods. To maintain the optimum pH balance, the key is to apply both of these ways. But first things first, we need to check and know our up to date pH balance. Using urine or saliva test strips that you can get from most drug stores can help you know your current pH balance. Remember to target a pH balance between 7.33 and 7.4. Vegetables and fruits, non-dairy and non-meat proteins (with the exception of cottage cheese, chicken breasts and eggs) and drinks such as koumbacha, herbal or green tea are considered as High Alkaline foods. Unluckily, foods that are known to be highly acidic include food like all kinds of sugar, dairy products, alcoholic beverages, and Fatty meats.
Strangely enough, even water is not immune to the western tendency towards acidity. This is because of different additives that are put into it to make sure that it is safe for drinking. Drinking water produced by Water Ionizers such as those made by Chanson Water has been tested to turn the water to a more alkaline level.
Even if we engaged our body to years of acid abuse causing increased infections and chronic fatigue, the good news is that we can undo the harm by optimizing our body’s pH balance. We just have to work on bringing our pH balance into the right levels.
