Plastic neti pots are probably the most popular type of neti pots on the market. They are unbreakable and easy to clean. They offer the perfect solution for large families where each person needs their own individual neti. This allows for everyone to be responsible for cleaning and keeping their pot handy for their use if traveling.
Plastic pots are the normally the least expensive of the neti pot types and offers the user a variety of designs and colors. This can help with assigning each family member a pot of their own. You can choose color variations, or even take a permanent marker and write their names on each pot. The best plastic neti pots will have a cone shaped end to the spout that helps provide a watertight seal against the nostril.
Another advantage is that the plastic pots are easier to hold while using them. Bulky ceramic or metal pots can be cumbersome for those that may have difficulty holding objects due to arthritis, etc. Most,if not all plastic neti pots will have some sort of built in handle to help position the pot. Neti pots must be kept clean and sanitary. The plastic pots are easy to clean and sanitize by washing them with hot water and an anti-bacterial dish washing detergent.
Plastic neti pots also are easier to travel with as they are not quite as bulky as metal pots and should make in through most Xray search machines at airports, etc. They take up very little space while packing and can be used to store prepackaged salt products.
Plastic offers the ability to make a wide variety of shapes and designs that can be both functional and decorative in most bathrooms. Pots shaped like a rhino horn are popular and offer the preferred spout design which features a cone shaped end. The most appealing thing about the plastic pots is their ease of use which makes the practice of nasal irrigation less of a major task. Being able to take them with you easily helps to keep you motivated in performing nasal irrigation almost anywhere.
Take a plastic neti pot with you to work and rinse out your sinuses anytime you come in contact with pollutants and allergens that you know can cause you problems. Workers that are in dusty environments and etc. will find the plastic neti pots to be a useful tool in keeping their sinuses healthy.
