Over the years I have seen too many people in the MLM network marketing industry fail to enjoy the recruiting and sponsoring success they deserved just because they would not perform the basic activities to promote their business.

Usually they had no problem spending a lot of money on generic websites, voice mail systems with toll-free numbers, email follow up systems, and other Internet tools that were supposed to take care of building their mlm. They tied up way too many hours every month updating one or more social media sites. Like clockwork they attended every conference call or training webinar available.

But they failed to do the simple, and usually very low-cost activities they could do to expose the people they had a relationship with or came in contact with in their local market to their business. They avoided activities that might result in face to face contact with a prospect. In fact, in many cases, it was almost like they were keeping their MLM a secret!

Even though our team specializes in online marketing to build the business, there are many easy and low-cost marketing techniques we teach our business partners to use in their local market. These are so effective that they are included in our initial training for new team members. They can bring fast results to new business partners while they are being trained to master the Internet.

Here are a few of the local marketing techniques that are often missed.

Send a personal letter to people you know. Explain that you have started a new business. Invite them to review your website. Tell them you would appreciate their feedback and any referrals of other people you might be able to help with it.

Include a sig file at the end of each email you send. Keep it brief. Include your website. Usually your email program can do this automatically for you.

Put a business message or web address on your cars. Check both online sources and at your local print shop. Vinyl lettering is very low-cost.

Drop cards, sometimes called sizzle cards, are a brief marketing message printed on a business card. Drop cards are very low-cost. There are a number of online companies where you can design your own card. It's easy to leave drop cards as you go about your daily routine. Include one in all outgoing mail.

Take advantage of the many easy, low cost ways to promote your organization. Recruiting and sponsoring will be much more effective if you stop keeping your MLM a secret!
