You are a master students and now being confused how to write your dissertation? Writing a masters dissertation is not that difficult as it seems to be. You just need to know some steps to go through the process of writing perfect master dissertations. By following the given procedure, you will be surely able to write your thesis without any cumbersome steps.
Introduction:
This will be your opening statement so it should be more interesting and eye catching. Here, you will be introducing a question that will be answered later on. It’s not like the typical essays where the introduction is merely a short summary of the points, rather it will comprise of the question that would be answered by your thesis.
Background information about the thesis:
Usually, the thesis statement leaves esoteric image, this is why it is important to provide some background information about the master dissertation topic. Providing background information is also useful when the project you are working on is interdisciplinary where more historical and background information is required by the reader to understand the essence of the dissertation.
Literature Review:
This is the step where you will be required to demonstrate the current status of research work done on your master dissertation topic. This section will basically try to define the current set of trends going on and the previous research done on it. But make sure you are not being critical regarding to the issues, you just have to present these varying points.
Identifying the question or the problem:
There are three important steps in stating the problem or the issues, which are:
1 Stating the question.
Don’t beat around the bush, be specific and clear in presenting the question, make sure you are not misleading the reader anywhere.
2 Asserting on the fact that this question is unanswered.
You will provide the critical reception of the work presented and you can also take different approaches form different authors to show that that nobody has been successful in providing a satisfactory answer to the question.
3 Arguments on why the stated question is worth answering.
You need to answer here what is the importance of the answer of the question that need to be answered and who good will come out of it?
Presenting your thesis:
This would the climax of your overall hard work, you will illustrate what were your efforts to answer the question and how well did it go? Whatever the format is, your main achievement would be convincing the readers that you have are done with the objectives you set out to do in your thesis statement.
Conclusion:
There are three sub-sections to it:
1 What have you concluded out of your work?
2 What are the contributions your thesis will make?
3 A glimpse in the chance of the future research.
References:
Every resource that you have used while writing your master dissertations should be included in your reference list that is usually at the end of the dissertation.
