Beans are important items for long time storage. Dairy products could be saved for long period only in the form of powdered milk and powdered egg. You could also have sugar and sugar made items. You may also include honey in your survival food kit, which is long-lasting. White sugar has the ability to remain useable for two to three years, while brown sugar could be stored for almost 18 months.
You must keep dried fruit and vegetables, and canned fruit and vegetables to gain proper nutrition. Nuts in their shells remain useable for at least two years. You can also keep pepper, salt, powdered or dried tomatoes, onion powder, and other spices in your survival food kit.
