Taking time out and having a holiday is such an important part of keeping us all healthy. It is so easy to get wrapped up in daily stresses and strain and neglect your holiday time. It is becoming more common for people to miss their holiday travel out completely and stay at home instead. For anyone who has had to do this recently you will appreciate the desire to do some worthwhile travel. You want to try and do as much as possible in the standard two weeks break as possible.

So I researched how best I could do this and the logistics of getting around to different parts of a country, let alone gong between countries just seemed like it was going to be a stressful affair. After all you are on your holiday why to add on the extra pressure of driving. Especially when you factor in that you may be driving on the other side of the road, struggling to understand road signs.

So this got me thinking about coach holiday or coach tour holidays. You think it is something that you should only undertake once you have retired but you would be surprised at the range of ages that you will find on a coach tour holiday. I for one was pleasantly surprised. The main benefit of this type of holiday is that fact that you have your own driver to take you safely from one destination to another. Your mind doesn't have to worry about which turn is the next one, where the next garage is, or where the best local hotel is going to be. All of this has been carefully researched and planned for you. What you are able to do is sit back and relax and enjoy the sights that appear before your eyes.

Most modern coaches will cater for your every need, far different from the old coaches I remember from my youth. There is plenty of leg and room and entertainment and refreshments for you. The on-board entertainment on the last coach holiday I went on was fantastic, I can honestly say that for the week I was travelling on the coach I didn't get bored once.

The main benefit I found was the people you meet, as you travel with the same group of people you soon get to know them. If you are so inclined you get to spend time off the coach with them too. I have made some good friends and I am planning another break this year with them. Don't let the old stereotypes get in the way, coach holidays are great fun and allow you to see so much of the world. Whether it is a UK break, or a European tour I am sure we all could find something somewhere of interest. You can opt for tours that guide you everywhere, or you can opt to have a bit of freedom and explore areas yourself. They really do cater for all - not just the old!
