Saltless Water Softeners – A New Variety Emerges

As we continue to research saltless water softeners we’ve also been lucky enough to receive a load of feedback. One of our visitors brought the EasyWater systems to our attention. Although I’d seen adds I assumed the system worked in a similar manner and was just a different brand. That is not exactly the case though, these actually have a couple of distinct advantages over both traditional systems and those operating under the principles we discussed earlier.
In our last article we specifically discussed the Kinetico system, which is quite effective. One of the drawbacks we didn’t highlight, however, was how much water is used. I assumed this was just how the systems worked, they used less last bt more water. Well the EasyWater system works on a different principle entirely. I’ve been told by an expert the ratio of used to usable water may be as high as two to one in the less efficient saltless water softeners.
The most important thing to consider though is still cost and unfortunately the EasyWater system is quite a bit more expensive. I’ve also read several negative reviews as far as reliability is concerned. It’s a real quandary. If there’s anybody out there with either system I’d really appreciate it if you could leave a comment on your personal experience. For now though let’s consider some of those costs and also availability.
You need to be sure that whoever is installing your new water softener, they’re familiar with how it works. In some regions you’ll find there just aren’t installers for one variety or the others. The west coast seems to have a death of EasyWater while the east lacks Kinecto. There’s certainly installers for both in everywhere but as at a matter of density you may need to drive an hour or more to find one which will significantly add to your costs (oh yes, you will pay driving costs – either up front or in padding, trust me…)
Now there’s the main unit, you need to be sure you buy one that will fit your needs, from the research I’ve one expect to pay about twenty-five percent more for the equivalent EasyWater system. Of course it’s not that simple, remember you’ll be saving on your water bill so factor that in… The more water you use, the more sense it generally makes to pay for the Easy water over the Kinectico saltless water softener. Generally a smaller household, using less water, will not save enough to cover the added initial cost.
