Golf is becoming one of the most popular attractions on the Costa del Sol, after being known for its wonderful beaches for a number of years. There are a lot of factors which have led to the invasion of people to the Costa del Sol. Because the climate here is so mild, a round of golf can usually be played every single day of the year. Picture out you are playing your local 18 holes in northern Europe, then add beautifully tended courses, the sea in the distance and the warm summer evenings all year round, and you have an idea of golf on the Costa del Sol.
With more than 50 courses, there are more places to play golf on the Costa del Sol than any other area of Europe. And there are an additional 40 new courses in the planning stages in Andalucía. Such is the quality of these courses, that this part of southern Spain has hosted world renowned competitions such as the Volvo Masters and the Ryder Cup. Golfers always talk that it's the enormous choice in a relatively small area that keeps them coming back. There are 3 courses inland from Costa del Sol that is ranked among the greatest in Europe. The San Roque Club was created by two former Ryder Cup players, Tony Jacklin and Dave Thomas. The 2 Englishmen created the San Roque on the grounds of the summer palace of the Domecq sherry dynasty.
Getting around Costa del Sol and able to play in every golf courses is easy due to a well-developed transit system. Buses take you from one town to the other for just a few Euros. The light rail system runs from Malaga to Fuengrola. Rent a car and drive the coastal road and head into the courses.
So if you are a golf lover person, investing a Costa del Sol property would be a good decision you would take in your life. There are houses, villas and some apartments to be purchase near from the golf course and one good thing is they aren't lining the fairways and restricting your golf in any way.
