A method whereby you can have a highly successful website, is to achieve return visits from those who have already visited your site. If you are unable to offer them something to come back for, then they may not return. Therefore, you should ensure you have content on the site that is of interest to them.
Articles will provide people who are interested in your business and its services something to read about. It will probably be the case that at some time in the future, a visitor will have a question or perhaps require more information about a product or service they received from your company. If the articles relate to your business, products and services you offer, then visitors will have easy access to such information. There are a number of article directories that provide high quality content at no cost whatsoever to you. Visiting such directories is simple and if you find articles that are applicable to your business and its objectives, then providing that it is acceptable within the terms and conditions of that site, you can copy and paste the articles into your website, but of course you will need to provide a link back to the website of the author.
Organising contests on your website, particularly if they change on a regular basis, will give your visitors an incentive to return to your web pages. If somebody signs up for a contest, you could also include a link to your newsletter. It is important to change the contest frequently, perhaps weekly or monthly, but it should be borne in mind that the more you change the contest, the more chance there is that visitors will return to your site.
It is often a good idea to provide your existing customers with coupons and discounts so that they are encouraged to return to you for more. There are a number of methods to be adopted and here is a selection of ideas. Buy one and get one free, you could offer a specific percentage discount such as 10%, or offer free shipping. Discounts are easy to run providing you have a shopping cart. A typical method would be to have discount codes. Alternatively, you could provide a coupon that is printable and then accept it at a physical locality.
If you provide a forum on your site, visitors will have good reasons to return to your pages often, whether it is to ask a question or perhaps just to keep up a conversation. You can host a forum from your site, or opt to use a third party forum. Each of these will have their pros and cons, but of course much will depend on what suits you.
Newsletters are a popular method for encouraging visitors to return to your site often. It is a good idea to include part of a unique tip or perhaps an article within the newsletter and then a link. This will encourage your visitors to visit your site to discover the ending of the article.
