What’s the best way to lose weight? Exercise right? When I ask people what type of exercise they always tell me aerobic.

The biggest secret about weight training is that lifting weights can actually get rid of fat on your body quicker than most aerobic exercises. In the first hour you will burn more calories with aerobic exercises, but after that hour has passed, weight training has many different advantages that aerobic does not.

After you have performed some resistant training your muscles will need to repair themselves and the action of repairing themselves will burn calories all on its own. This means that while you are working out your body is burning calories and when you are resting your body is also burning more calories without you doing anything at all.

You build up more muscle mass.
Now if you’re a woman reading this don’t shy away. The female body doesn’t put on muscle as quickly and in the same way that the male body does, unless you are using some form of supplements to enhance the muscle growth drastically. As long as you are doing it all natural, you should be just fine.

Weight training also allows you to have that added benefit of feeling and looking fit. When you weight train you are enhancing the cardiovascular system in your body. This will make you feel more energetic.
An extra benefit is that weight training takes a positive toll on your psychology. It will cause you to feel good about yourself when you look in the mirror and when you catch others looking at you.
Keep in mind that you don’t need to lift weights excessively in order to achieve these results. Start off small and then gradually work your way up until you are satisfied with your look.
To get the best of both worlds try having a proper diet that controls the calories you eat along with a good weight training program. It will be hard for you to get use to in the beginning, but with in time you will adjust and you will see the results.
