A great way to enhance your Internet marketing business is to offer products that complement what you're already offering. eBay calls this "cross-promotion."

Let's suppose you visit eBay and you're looking for an iPod. While there, you find cross-promotions (complementary products) like iPod battery packs, earphones, USB cables, cases, etc. that you can bid on and add to your iPod.

Complementary or cross-promotions work the same way in affiliate marketing.

For example, if you're going to promote home-based business opportunities, especially to stay-at-home-moms, your first product might be an eBook that contains all they need to know about becoming an affiliate marketer.

This type of product has a lot of potential for cross-promotion. Just think - if you were a stay-at-home-mom just starting your own home-based business, what else would you need?

How about products that would help you get organized – particularly if you're short on storage and/or office space? You could cross-promote complementary items through, say, Amazon.com, such as: Ergonomic office furniture A desk that will fit in a small space, even in a corner A Laptop computer and all the bells and whistles

And being new to affiliate marketing, you'd also need cross-promotional products that would give you all of the tools and strategies for success and increase profitability.

Such instructional cross-promotions could include:

Software for success with article marketing; eBooks on Pay-per-Click marketing; Tutorials on social marketing; How to get and use PLR (Private Label Rights).

That list is just a start.

And cross-promotions work with whatever you're marketing - there's always a software program, an eBook or instructional video, an accessory of some sort that will work with something you're promoting.

Use your imagination, talk to people about what they'd like to have to go along with the product you’re offering and soon you'll have an endless list of cross-promotional offers that you can incorporate in your website marketing strategy so that there will never be a customer's need that you can't meet.
