Question #2 Which social media marketing strategy is best for my business? (Part one)

Hi, I’m David Stephens with Social Reach Media. When it comes to determining what to include in your businesses social media strategy, ask yourself this one question: Which customer, todays or tomorrows, is more important to reach right now?

I know, you want to reach them both, and in a perfect world you could, but no single marketing outlet reaches all the people all the time. So, the best practice in formulating a social media marketing strategy requires that you decide which is more important to you right now—reaching today’s customers or those who await your future.

I imagine if you could take a bigger slice of the people who are in need of your product or service today, you would. After all, a few more sales this month wouldn’t hurt, right!?

But to convert prospects into customers who today need your product or service and requires that your business be seen in the places people look. In the online world, when people go searching for a product or service they want, they usually do so with a search engine. The most popular search engine in the world today is Google.

Google is a tool best used to connect your business with people who currently want what you have to sell. But to be successful, your business content must populate the first few pages of a Google search. I mean, when you do a Google search, how many pages do you review? One? Maybe two?

To get your business to the top of the search engines, you can choose a key phrase you want to own and create your content around this key phrase in an attempt to work your way up the pages. Or you can buy an ad and pay for your key phrase by the click, or even do what we do and populate your content on the fifty or so most popular destination points on the web.

To increase the number of today’s customers that choose to do business with you, invest some time, energy and marketing dollars into an effective search engine strategy.
