• intensity of workout
• how many days to exercise
The monitor is so good that it will always take into account what you have been achieving during your workouts and then adjust according. For example the other day I went for a really long run and today it eased up on my intensity zone to give me a more relaxed workout.
As an added alternative you could also purchase the Polar G1 speed and distance sensor trainer or the Polar S1 foot pad. They both track your speed and distance which along with the heart rate monitor can be linked up and shared online polar fitness networking sites. This will enable you to get more tips and see how your training is doing against others with similar goals as you.
