When my wife and I had our first child, she had a really hard time losing the baby weight. In my opinion, she did not need to change a thing, but she was very determined to get back to her pre-baby body nonetheless. At first, she noticed that she lost weight fairly quickly following childbirth, but soon after, the weight stopped coming off and she started getting depressed. Eventually, we even decided to go to our family doctor and get her recommendation, because my wife refused to give up on her goal.

She spent the first month following childbirth recovering from the ordeal. I could tell that she was in a good deal of pain, and was having trouble with some soreness. Obviously, she could not really exercise very much at first. The doctor helped by giving me advice on meals that I could make for her in order to help her body recover and get her metabolism working better. She said that a healthy diet goes a long way towards shredding the baby fat. After a week or two of good, all-natural food, my wife said that she had begun to feel much better.

Once she was ready to go out and about, we started on a moderate exercise program together. At first, we kept things pretty light, because she was still weak from labour. But after a few weeks of the diet and exercise, I began to notice that she was looking much more energized. She also told me that she felt much better.

I know better than to ever ask a woman about her weight, but my wife has been very forthcoming about her weight loss since we have started our new program. It has not been easy, but a good diet and proper exercise four or five days a week has really helped her lose the baby weight.

I have seen other women struggle with their baby weight as well, and I always try to tell them our story. As long as you keep working the program, you will see results - there is no doubt about it. Real woman do not lose baby weight in a month like you see in the celebrity tabloids - it takes time, patience, and dedication, but you will eventually succeed.
