Everyone one of us is facing some kind of stress in his/her life due to this busy life and work load. Although some stress is essential to keep you active and alert so that you can respond to stimuli. With such response only, few hormones are released that are required for the proper balancing of the body. But then after some time your body needs some relaxation. For this, simple massage is very fruitful. As the name implies it gives relax and comfort from your busy life.
Relaxation Massage does not have very special techniques as with other therapies. It consists of simple activities that are included in our daily life. We all are engaged in some or the other king of massage termed as self help relaxation like rubbing your forehead or arms in case of pain, massaging your head with oil etc.
A few simple activities in our daily life which can be used for relaxing the body are:
Breathing: Breathing is a regular process but if done with a bit of consciousness then it gives you much comfort. Your breath should be long but slow. You should inhale with your nostril and exhale through your mouth.
Tensing and Relaxing: For this sit on a comfortable chair and close your eyes. Now begin observing your body starting from foot. Try to observe each muscle of your body. In between also tense few muscles for 5 sec and then again release them. It can be done as by raising eyebrows, clenching fist and eyelids, showing biceps. This tensing and relaxing will give you much comfort when you will open your eyes and you will feel fresh.
Foot massage: This is very effective if you are tired due to long walking or standing for a long time. Better if you use oil or some kind of lotion. Sit on a floor or a chair and keep one foot on other leg. Now apply oil and start giving smooth strokes to your feet from toes to ankles. Use your fist for kneading the sole of foot, stretch your toes, and rub your feet. This will also reduce pain and increase the blood circulation in your feet.
Relaxation Massage has a number of benefits such as helping to increasing circulation in the body so that skin, tissues and organs get more oxygen. With this, cells breathe properly. The lymphatic system works smoothly with the massage. It promotes digestion and removes toxins from the body. This releases the knot in the muscles and relieves you from tensions and sprains. Although it helps in reducing pain its main target is not pain but to give relax and comfort to your body.
As in every massage you need to take some precautions, you need to be aware of certain things:
Before massage you should not drink any alcohol and should also avoid heavy meal. Drinking plenty of water as it is beneficial and helps to flush out the toxins from your body.
