Psoriasis is an auto immune system disease that is caused by a variety of reasons. The real cause of scalp psoriasis, the most common type of psoriasis, is still yet unknown. Medicine today doesn't have a cure for psoriasis, all the doctors can do is give you some creams and lotions to help but that's about it. Many people get weird looks from people who think that it's leprosy.
Of course, psoriasis is non-contagious but that does not stop us from feeling bad about it. Trust me, I know the feeling first hand. I suffered from psoriasis for 5 years but I have been searching around for best ways to control it. Some treatments worked better than others but this is a chronic disease and it will most likely last for the rest of your life. Statistics show that around 120 million people suffer from psoriasis worldwide, but of course, with various levels of degree.
If you want to control your psoriasis you need to first find out if you have any allergies. You can visit an allergist who will evaluate you and let you know if you have any food allergies. This is important because allergic reactions can contribute to inflammation, redness, as well as bloody, itchy and flaky skin.
Dairy products have shown to increase the levels of psoriasis so if one thing you want to do to help treat psoriasis is to reduce the intake of any dairy products, preferably eliminate them altogether. Keep away from any kind of processed foods that contain high amounts of chemicals. If the label contains ingredients that you cannot understand then you probably want to stay away from that product.
Remember, the root cause of psoriasis is the gastrointestinal tract. It's sad that doctors these days say that food has no effect on the severity of psoriasis; however, food has everything to do with every single aspect of our health life and the problems that come with it.
The best way to treat psoriasis is to find out which foods impact on your level of psoriasis and eliminate them from your diet. It can vary from person to person. I know what it feels like to wear long sleeved shirts and hide your skin from the embarrassment of psoriasis. I know the looks people give you and I have a pretty good idea what those people think about you too. Get all the psoriasis help you can get. You don't need to deal with psoriasis, get psoriasis help today.
