Well, everything went well off for the Indian Cricket team at the grandest stage of them all i.e. the World Cup 2011. We finally got hold of the prized trophy after 28 long years. Well, can we say the same for Bollywood too?
After the aftermath of cricket, Bollywood looks affirmative with its releases. Bollywood didn’t kick start too well after releasing a movie titled F.A.L.T.U. Though F.A.L.T.U didn’t fair too well at the box office but its never too late for Bollywood to remunerate the damages that it suffered due to the cricket worshipping nation. On the go is Lara Dutta and Vinay Pathak starrer Chalo Dilli.
Chalo Dilli is a journey film that showcases India, through the relationship of this incompatible couple and ends with a bolt from the blue twist. Lara Dutta's maiden home production, Chalo Dilli, is edging towards its release. The film was wrapped up in a start-to-finish 33-day schedule, which included only a three-day break. There was a 26-day shoot in Delhi and Jaipur, and a week-long spell in Mumbai. Produced by Eros International in association with Big Daddy Productions, which is owned by Dutta's husband Mahesh Bhupathi's Globosport, and her Bheegi Basanti Production, the movie pairs the former Miss Universe with the ever hilarious Vinay Pathak. A charming, sliver of life film that will have you chuckling and giggling off your seats, Chalo Dilli which is directed by Shashant Shah of Dasvidaniya fame is a journey which along with the two protagonists showcases the real India and its colorful and funny people with their eccentricities.
On the 1st of April Chalo Dilli released its theatrical trailer alongside Abhinay Deo's Game. The trailer gained a lot of popularity and hype as the people loved every bit of it. The movie looks fresh and the casting surely is an intelligent one. Well, some would say that the casting is a bit anomalous but the truth of the matter is Vinay Pathak is acknowledged as the big star of low budget films whereas Bollywood hottie also former beauty pageant Lara Dutta has been mostly associated with huge commercial films. The movie has been shot in place like Jaipur, Delhi and Mumbai.
The buzz is that actor Vinay Pathak gained 12 kgs weight to work in this movie alongside Lara Dutta, now we can say that there is another perfectionist in the making after Aamir Khan. The character that Vinay is playing in Chalo Dilli demanded him to gain weight and did so putting in a lot of efforts and dedication. On the other end Lara Dutta is also shooting for Don 2 – The Chase Continues… which will also be ready for release probably by early next year. Apart from this, the dusky actress would also be seen in Banda Yeh Bindaas Hai which is all ready for release and mostly be releasing in July this year.
Apart from Lara and Vinay, Chalo Dilli has also a sensational item song titled Laila O Laila and shaking a leg on this cult Zeenat Aman song will be none other than famous item girl Yana Gupta who has been in the news for all the wrong reasons lately. Well, this one’s sure to make everyone groove. Watch out for this one. Chalo Dilli comes to a theatre near you on the 29th of April.
