It is undeniable that one of the most exciting part of investing in a house is when you start the process of visiting, checking out and looking for houses. It would be for sure very thrilling to be able to finally buy your first property investment. Of course, you have to expect that there will be minor troubles you will encounter, but those are all part of the process and for sure, after moving to your first home and enjoying the house, you will realize that all the hardships and the hassles you have been through were truly worth it. Do not fantasize about your happy life on your new home yet. It would be much better if you get a clear picture first of the appearance of your house. Make a list of all the specifications and details of the house you have been thinking of so you and your real estate agent can easily find it. To keep your imagination clear, here are some details to help you.
The city or the suburbs?
Decide first on what kind of environment you would prefer to live. DO you want to reside in a house situated inside the city or do you want to stay at the suburban neighborhood. Let us say, you want a Pleasanton homes for sale so you try looking for some available properties in the area. Take note that houses that area near or in the urban center cost more but it would be easier for you because you can have faster time going to school districts, entertainment zones, shopping centers and potential employers. However, if you want to save thousands of dollars but still near the city central, there are properties on busy streets that are cheaper. The only problem is that there can be huge traffic all the time and noise and disturbances are prevalent. Assess first if you can bear the loud noise of the streets before you decide to get a property in this kind of area. You can also choose to live in a silent and peaceful lifestyle in Pleasanton real estate properties that area situated on the suburban areas. Though they are cheaper and newer, they are somehow farther away from the urban center.
What type of home do you prefer?
Single-family residences will provide you more flexibility in making the specifications you want for the house. Moreover, type of home like this will provide you more activities to do while inside the vicinity of your home. Houses of this type have yards that you can use for gardening or play area if you have kids. Even though they are more expensive and they require higher maintenance budget, these properties can give you more privacy and less noise and disturbances from your neighbors. It is also easier to find a single-family residence that have number of bedroom and bathrooms that you prefer.
Other types of home such as condominiums, cooperatives and townhouses are cheaper than single-family residences but the downside of these properties is that there is lesser privacy because the property shares walls, floors and facilities to the other properties. You also do not have to worry about high maintenance costs because most of the time, there are no yard and other exterior areas.
How many storeys do you want?
Would you like to buy a single-storey house or would you prefer multi-storey properties?
Properties with a single floor are more convenient to clean. They are also more desirable for home investors with elderly housemates or injured ones. However, one weakness of this type of property is that it is noisier and it can easily disturb a person sleeping if the sounds and entertainment appliances are in the same level as the bedrooms. Multi-storey houses provide residents more space for the house, but it can be difficult to keep it clean. It is also much tiring to carry heavy stuffs to the higher floors especially if you have to do it repeatedly. But one good thing about multi-storey houses is that residents sleeping on higher floors cannot be easily disturbed by noise coming from the lower floor.
