Brighton is renowned for being one of the most vibrant, original and creative cities in England and unsurprisingly is one of the most popular destinations for a weekend break. With its famous nightlife, wide range of restaurants and diverse shops in the lanes, the beach, pier and the pavilion, Brighton has everything .It’s the perfect getaway. Whether you are visiting for a stag or hen party or simply just a short getaway to the sea, knowing where to go and what hotels are available can be vital to making sure your stay is an enjoyable one.
Brighton’s beach and its pier are perhaps what Brighton is most famous for and probably the first place to visit. Unsurprisingly there are a wide range of hotels all across the seafront. With sea views, and prime location the prices are at the higher end of the scale. The Hilton, The Grand Hotel, The Barcelo Brighton Old ship and the Thistle hotel are just a few of a number of hotels situated close to one another along the main strip of the seafront. For slightly cheaper options you simply have to venture a little further along the seafront. There are a number of slightly smaller and cheaper hotels going towards Kemptown. Equally there are a number of cheap Brighton hotels going the other way towards Hove, including the Blue Lagoon Bar and B&B and the Cecil House Hotel.
No weekend in Brighton is complete without visiting the North and South lanes, a unique shopping and dining experience. The North lanes has a predominantly ‘retro’ feel with many clothes shops along with a flea market and other interesting independent retailers whilst the South Lanes provide a maze of designer and jewellery shops. Both have many places to sit and have a drink or to have a bite to eat. There are a number of hotels dotted around both lanes; My Hotel is situated near the Brighton Pavilion, another must see for visitors, in the North Lanes and is fairly expensive, whilst there is a Travelodge situated on West Street just outside the South lanes and In-between both lanes there is a Premier Inn on North Street, both of which are relatively cheap.
At the back of the train station located fairly centrally there is the Jury’s Inn, more expensive than some cheaper hotels but not as expensive as those near the seafront whilst Elsewhere, there are a number of hotels further out of town, along Preston road including another Travelodge and Preston Park Hotel both of which are relatively cheap. Almost wherever you go in Brighton there will be somewhere to stay and whilst location is usually important to visitors this will be less so with Brighton.
The city is relatively small and most attractions are within walking distance of one another and for those that aren’t there are a number of bus companies running reliable services within the city. All the hotels mentioned are within a 2 mile radius of the sea front with most less than a 10 minute walk. In Brighton, wherever you stay you are going to be able to visit all of the attractions. The choice is up to you!
