Awesome Home Communities in Thornton, Colorado

I recently went to visit a friend of mine who lives in Thornton, Colorado – located just north of Denver. Thornton is nice little area where I can someday see my family living and settling down. It’s relatively inexpensive to own a home there as the median home price is about $139K. My friend is a real estate broker and while I currently live in San Diego, California where there are tons of beautiful places to live, I was quite taken aback with some of the neighborhoods he was showing me.
My friend first showed me some homes at The Haven at York Street. This is a newer community in the north part of Thornton. I liked the fact that each of the homes had 3 beds and 3 baths and the open floor plans and the fact that it was located right next to The Orchard Town Center. Was my dream house in this neighborhood? Maybe. I had to check other places for me to really get a sense of the entire area.
After The Haven at York Street, we ate lunch at a Jimmy John’s Gourmet Sandwich shop and then drove over to look at some Lake Avery Estates homes for sale. Upon entering, I thought to myself that this is a community! Custom homes on half acre lots surrounding the lake with gorgeous views of the mountains. All of the homes were extremely well maintained and very large – I believe the custom homes range from 2,500 to 5,000 square feet. I was told that some of the homes have home theatres in them too! These homes are located in a pretty convenient area – close to DIA and the I-25. These homes were a little on the expensive side but sometimes the house is worth the price! It’s no surprise that the schools in this area are located in the Adams Five District. I just couldn’t get over the beauty of the lake and the mountain views that some of these homes had.
With the flight from San Diego, driving around, catching up and looking at a couple different communities, we decided to call it a day and would look at more communities tomorrow. I was out there for a few days and wanted to get a good sense of the area. So far, I was super impressed with the area and what I saw – not only with the home communities, but also the open space, mountain views, parks and overall energy that Thornton Colorado had to offer.
