For the last 60 years, Race Furniture have been designing and manufacturing quality seating. The design lead approach to projects establish by British post-war furniture designer, Ernest Race, has continued from the companies inception to present day.
In addition to this design lead approach to manufacturing, product quality has been always been an essential part of our company ethos and a key contributor to our longevity. This in particular is an area that we feel our British manufactured stacking chairs win out over products imported into the UK.
British Standards
All our products conform to the following British Standards:
BS5852: 1990 Ignition source 0, 1 and 5 Flammability.
BS7176: 1995 Resistance to ignition of upholstered furniture for non domestic seating by testing composites.
In addition The Stanway range of stacking chairs conforms to BS4875: Part 1 1985 Strength and Stability of Furniture.
By complying to these standards, we are providing you with the re-assurance that our products are manufactured the highest quality, will be durable and safe for the user.
Product Choice & Finishes
Unlike volume imported chairs we are able to offer our range of stackable chairs in a large selection of bespoke finishes, including a choice of upholstery from the Bradbury range of woven tweeds and polyamide crepes in more than 30 colours. In additional to upholster finishes, the Stanway 3 chair is available in a beech veneered finish, making it ideal for locations such as the recently completed Horsely Church installation where a key chair selection requirement was to fit in with the historical surroundings.
Other choices are available for each chair, such as chrome or a durable nylon coating finished in a variety of colours
In addition to the variety of finishes on offer a range of stacking chair accessories, all British manufactured and designed, are available. These include integral linking systems, armrests, writing tablets and trollies capable of stacking up to 30 chairs.
If you are unable to find a product that fits your requirements, we also have the capability of providing a bespoke service, ensuring that you are offered the ideal stacking chair for your requirement.
Local employment & environmental advantages
Based nearby to the idillic Cotswold village of Bourton on the Water, Race Furniture offer excellent employment opportunities to local people with the right skill set. You can be sure that the working conditions, both in the design office and manufacturing areas, are of a high quality.
As well as offering good local employment opportunities, we are able to avoid the inevitable increase in carbon footprint that shipping products from abroad will cause.
Buy British!
If you are able to support a British manufacturing company such as Race Furniture as part of your procurement process, you are supporting a company that has a rich history in furniture design and manufacturing, that works to the highest quality, provides excellent customer support and local employment opportunities as well as offering a more environmentally friendly option.
