Orrell Park Pharmacy & Vaccination Centre
Your Local Pharmacy in Liverpool, Doing More Than Dispensing
Most pharmacies hand you a bag and send you on your way. We don't work like that.
At Orrell Park Pharmacy, we look after the health of real people in this community. Whether you need a travel vaccine before your holiday or a blood test to check something feels off, we are here. No long waits. No confusing referrals. Just good, straightforward care from people who know your name.
We are based on Moss Lane in Orrell Park, Liverpool. Our team has been serving this neighbourhood for years. We know the area, and we know the people in it. That matters more than most clinics will admit.
Travel Clinic Liverpool
Planning a trip abroad? Don't leave your health to chance.
Our travel clinic covers everything from routine jabs to specialist vaccines like Yellow Fever. Yellow Fever vaccination is not available everywhere. We are one of the few centres in Liverpool authorised to provide it. If you are travelling to parts of Africa, South America, or the Caribbean, this one could be required for entry.
We also cover:
-
Hepatitis A and B
-
Typhoid
-
Cholera
-
Rabies
-
Meningitis ACWY
-
Tetanus, diphtheria, and polio (DTP)
-
Japanese encephalitis
Not sure what you need? Book a travel health consultation with us. We will look at your destination, your itinerary, and your medical history. Then we will tell you exactly what makes sense. No unnecessary jabs, and no gaps that could cost you later.
We do not charge a booking fee. Most clinics do. We do not. Turn up, get seen, and go home prepared.
NHS Pharmacy First Service
You might not need a GP appointment. You might just need us.
Since the NHS expanded Pharmacy First, we can now treat a wider range of common conditions directly. No referral needed. No waiting weeks for a GP slot.
We treat:
-
Urinary tract infections (UTIs) in women
-
Sore throat
-
Sinusitis
-
Ear infections (otitis media)
-
Impetigo
-
Shingles
-
Insect bites and stings
If you have one of these conditions, come in. We can assess you and, where appropriate, prescribe treatment on the spot. It is free on the NHS. It saves you time. And it means the GP can focus on cases that genuinely need them.
Flu and COVID Vaccinations
Flu is not just a bad cold. For some people, it is dangerous.
We run our NHS flu vaccination programme every year, starting in October. Eligible patients get their jab free. If you are not eligible on the NHS, private flu vaccines are available from £25.
COVID boosters are also offered when doses are available. Ask the team about current eligibility or check with us directly.
Pneumonia vaccination is available too, starting from £45. If you are over 65 or have an underlying condition, this is worth considering. The pneumonia vaccine is not something most people think about until they need it.
Earwax Removal Liverpool
Blocked ears are miserable. The fix is usually quick.
We offer professional earwax removal from £30. Our team uses safe, effective methods to clear your ears properly.
Blocked ears can affect your balance, your hearing, and your mood. Cotton buds push wax further in. Ear drops help some people but not everyone. Professional removal is often the only thing that actually works.
Come in for an assessment. We will check your ears and advise the best approach based on what we find.
Blood Tests Liverpool
Early detection changes outcomes. Blood tests make early detection possible.
We offer private blood tests from £49. These are not just routine checks. Our tests can detect blood abnormalities, including early markers linked to certain cancers. That kind of information gives you options. Waiting until symptoms appear often does not.
Tests are processed quickly, and results are explained clearly. We do not hand you a printout and leave you to Google it. We walk you through what the numbers mean.
If something needs follow-up, we will tell you what to do next. That is what a good pharmacy should do.
Vitamin B12 Injections
B12 deficiency is more common than most people realise.
Fatigue, brain fog, numbness in the hands or feet. These are all signs that your B12 levels might be low. Oral supplements help some people. For others, injections work better and faster.
We offer Vitamin B12 injections from £29. The appointment is short. Many people notice a difference within a few days. If you have already been diagnosed with B12 deficiency or suspect you might be deficient, speak to us.
NHS Contraception Services
We provide free NHS contraception services, including emergency contraception.
There is no appointment needed for emergency contraception in most cases. Walk in, speak to the pharmacist, and we will help. It is confidential, free, and faster than waiting for a GP.
We also offer advice on a range of contraception options. If you are not sure what suits you, we can talk through the options without judgement. That is what we are here for.
Allergy Testing
Living with unexplained symptoms is draining.
If you suspect allergies are affecting your quality of life, a proper test is the first step. We offer allergy testing for £299. The test covers a wide range of common allergens, from food items to environmental triggers.
Knowing what you are reacting to changes things. You can adjust your diet, your environment, or get proper treatment. Guessing rarely gets you anywhere.
Blood Pressure Monitoring
High blood pressure has no obvious symptoms. That is the problem.
Millions of people in the UK are walking around with high blood pressure and do not know it. Left unchecked, it raises the risk of stroke and heart attack significantly.
A blood pressure check takes a few minutes. We offer monitoring at the pharmacy. If your reading is high, we will advise you on next steps. That might mean a GP referral, lifestyle changes, or just keeping an eye on it over time.
Do not wait until something goes wrong to check.
Prescription Services and Delivery
We handle NHS prescriptions and offer a delivery service for housebound patients.
If you cannot get to us, we can come to you. Our delivery service covers housebound patients in the local area. If you rely on regular medication and getting out is difficult, talk to us about setting up a regular delivery.
We also carry out emergency supplies of medication where clinically appropriate. If you have run out of a regular medicine and cannot reach your GP, speak to our pharmacist. We may be able to help.
Why People in Liverpool Choose Orrell Park Pharmacy
There is no single reason. Most people come back because they feel looked after.
We are a local, independent pharmacy. We are not part of a chain. Nobody here is reading from a script or rushing you out the door. When you ask a question, you get a proper answer.
Our team is trained, qualified, and approachable. We cover everything from complex travel health to everyday prescription queries. And we do it without charging you a booking fee or making you wait two weeks for a slot.
Walk in, call us, or book online. We are here Monday to Friday on Moss Lane.
