Sports can be seen in televisions, read in newspapers and blogs, or even watch it live. It became a worldwide because of its organized, competitive, and entertaining activity. It comes from the old French word desport meaning "leisure" and this event needs a lot of concentration, strategy and even fair play. A player can be declared a winner by means of fair and objective a set of rules. To become one of these professional athletes, you can either join in a club or sign up to be in part of their exciting activities.

Alongside movie and television celebrities in annual income, professional athletes are among the most highly grossed paid people in the world.

Money and fame is one of the reasons why many young athletes want to join these ranks of professional athletes. Aside from diligently studying at schooling from grade school, high school up to college, they did not forget to devote some time to perfect their physical skills. And there are arrangements in which professional can developed this younger players into their ranks. And this is where drafting or scouting enters. They see players that have potentials to join to the professional league. Only, the drawback to this is that only a small percentage of these athletes are good enough to attract the attention of scouts.

This single-minded devotion of young athletes has more serious disadvantages. This includes extreme pressure from parents and coaches that may turn a young person away from the game early in life. Additionally, this may create a sense of failure in everything else he does and a disabling injury at an early age can cut short some promising athletic careers. So for parents and coaches, they must not pressure these young hopeful athletes instead they should encouraged them to be better so that they can achieve their dreams in becoming one of the top professional athletes someday.

You must have the dedication and commitment to study or train a sport you like if you want to become a professional athlete. By joining sports clubs at school or joining a sports clinic, you can hone your abilities. You can join or sign-up some of these sports like basketball, baseball, football, cricket and ice to become one of those top professional athletes.

Professional athletes experienced many trials and hardships before they got to their current positions. They are devoted all their life to their career and it really takes a lot of guts and tenacity to survive this type of career.
