The whole country must stand together in the fight against the bulge or another name would be Obesity with a big O. Our population is expanding in more ways than one pardon the pun but this is the cause of underlying health problems as in Heart, Cancer, Diabetes and can be avoided if only everyone was to follow a healthy lifestyle.

We must employ a healthier eating, dieting and exercising lifestyle if we are going to conquer the big O.

Why do we abdicate the use of weight loss pills because it’s easy, the thing is we do not understand the full implications of taking these pills? I suppose it is easier to take the pills rather than say go for a brisk walk, no let’s just take the pills.

Try to join healthy eating with dieting i.e.: fresh fruits, vegetables, lean meat and stay away from all the processed foods, whether it be frozen except (frozen vegetables), tinned or in packets and remember fresh is best.

When going round the super market check the contents for all the usual bad boys such as sugar, salt, calories etc. Plan your meals in advance instead of picking up the easy cooked meals.

Calorie counting is a must if you eat food with all the those things I mentioned in it, then the body will stores it up and wham fat in excess. Even though the body craves food you must ignore it and in so doing this you will begin to feel healthier inside and have a healthier outlook.

Everyone must have a goal to achieve as in counting the calories which will assist you in reaching your target weight and your body mass index should be around 1800 to 2500 as an example. Losing around 2 pounds per week is an achievable and safe way instead of going in gung ho to find that the weight will come off quickly but goes on even quicker. It has to be a slow process as the weight has taken years to build up, so to allow the body to recuperate on the changes it has to undergo it must be slow.

Dieting must be maintained for a long period of time or until it becomes another way of life.

Exercise is a must, as it will quicken up the process considerably, I know I always go on about it but it is a fact of life, no pain no gain.

Try out the gym on the treadmill and life-cycle. To begin with take it slowly as your body has been sleeping for a number of years and doesn't’t like a sudden jolt to waken it up and will also perform better so take the extra bit of time to awaken the muscles up.

It will take one to two weeks to build up before you can do some serious training and you will thank yourself that you did it this way in the long term.

Cycling is another excellent way to exercise, you get plenty fresh air, breathing all that oxygen, the blood is pumping around the body you will be working muscles you never knew you had and all in all it has to be only good for your health.

Golf is another good exercise especially if you don’t take the cart; just watch that waist line shrink.

So let’s reflect on how far we have come and where we have gone, Easy weight loss pills, not such a thing as easy weight loss it has to be earned and worked on continually.

Then comes healthy eating foods followed by calorie counting and last but not leased our old friend Mr. exercise. Do all of these tips and I am sure you will lead a long and healthy life.

Let’s win the fight against the big o.

Oh and remember to always seek medical advice before undertaking any weight loss or exercise program.
