Joint pain that is associated with arthritis can be mild or extremely severe, and it is usually occurring. The only way to get relief is to undergo tests and x-rays, which are given by doctors. Then, they will be able to match your specific symptoms with the conditions of one of the many types of arthritis.
Some people may get relief by using OTC medication, which is medicine that can be obtained without a prescription. However, this is generally only for people who have minor arthritis. However, these people should still see a doctor, to make sure that that the arthritis isn't worse than what they perceive. Doctors will also be able to make recommendation to specific medicines, or therapy that can be used with their specific type of arthritis. Even though you have arthritis, that doesn't mean that you have to live with the discomfort and pain associated with it. Although there is no cure, there are various treatments that allow you to deal with the pain. There are also treatments that may slow the progression of the inflammation of the joints.
