D&K Suit City is a discount clothing store in Atlanta, Georgia with 5 locations. They became famous by offering first quality designer clothing for men at prices that were unbeatable in the local and national market place. The original owners and visionaries behind D&K Suit City were Elie Karam, Elias Dabit, and Eddie Dabit. The owners had a background in nationally known and beloved stores such as Oxford Street Menswear and Giorgio's menswear. Many of their original stores still exist and thrive throughout the United States until this day. After 20 years of setting trends in the Urban menswear and high quality suit business they realized that there was a huge gap in the marketplace offering high quality and high fashion clothing for customers at an affordable price. Noticing this gap, the Dabit and Karam families pulled their resources together and opened the first D&K Suit City on Memorial Drive in Decatur, Ga. They became famous for their "2 for" and "3 for" specials offering even deeper discounts to customers buying in bulk. It was a huge success and soon after 4 other D&K locations opened up in the Atlanta area. D&K Suit City was the first store in the country to offer 2 suits for only $150, a price that was unheard of in the current market. In January 2011 Elie Karam retired from D&K to focus on several other businesses. He left his twin sons Jonathan Karam and Justin Karam to run D&K Suit city for the family.
The Karam brothers, also including Georges & Joseph Karam, have helped maintain their father's legacy by helping D&K Suit City move forward by offering deep discounts to it's customers in one of the worst economies this generation has ever experienced. Not only did they remain true to the original concept of offering high fashion at an affordable price. They also broadened D&K Suit City's customer base by bringing in the same top designer brand suits and casual wear found in department stores around the country at prices up to 70% off of MSRP. Their business continues to grow with the launch of their website DKSuitCity.com. Now customers around the country can enjoy the same deals that D&K Suit City's customer have been enjoying in Georgia for the past 20 years.
Now in 2011, D&K is the southeast's largest family owned discount operation. With over 50,000 suits always in stock there is never a short supply of merchandise for there customers.
D&K has also received attention from the media by offering large clothing donations to many non-profit organizations based in Atlanta and abroad . In 2009, when thousands of Atlanta families lost everything due to flooding, D&K Suit City donated over $100,000 in clothing to families in need. When Haiti was rocked by massive earthquakes, D&K Suit City partnered with Hosea Feed the Hungry and collected monetary donations as well as canned goods from it's many generous customers and friends. In addition to this, D&K Suit City also offered more enrage of every suit sold to it's stores as well as a huge clothing donation to the people in Haiti.
By offering the best value on clothing to it's customers and through all of their work in the community, D&K Suit City has gained a loyal following of customers and supporters. It's not uncommon to see the owners, managers, and employees engaged in personal conversations (on a first name basis) with it's customers. Some of whom have become like family. At D&K Suit City the bottom line is not just about profits but people. D&K Suit City appreciates it's customers and have been able to form lasting relationships with them throughout the years.
As of 2011, D&K Suit City has amassed the same buying power as its corporate owned competitors and continue to provide an incredible value to all of its customers who want to look just as good, if not better, than their peers who spend 3 to 4 times more for the same clothing else wear. They continue to stand for the same values they were founded on and hope to provide even better selections and discounts as they did when they first opened years ago.
