Piles Symptoms
If you notice blood in the stool after a bowel movement, this may be a sign. You also may see blood on the toilet paper. You might have itching or burning in the rectum. Sometimes the itching can be severe. You may notice a protrusion or lump on the outside of the anus, and it can sometimes feel like a knot. In some cases, there may be a discharge that appears to be mucus.
You also may notice rectal swelling, and this can sometimes make bowel movements difficult. You may notice lot of pain when attempting bowel movements. Also, itching may be much more noticeable, immediately after a bowel movement.
When you notice blood, it should be bright red. If not, it may be from further up the digestive tract, and might be a sign of a more serious condition. Any time that you notice rectal bleeding, you should see your doctor, for an examination.
Cause
Hemorrhoids care caused by veins that are swollen (like varicose veins). This can be caused by long term pressure and a lot of heavy lifting. In some cases, hemorrhoids may develop for no apparent reason.
Piles Treatment
There are several things that you can do to help with pain, swelling, and itching. Warm baths may help to soothe the inflammation. In some cases, over the counter hemorrhoid creams may help. You might also try hydro-cortisone cream for itching. Some people find relief with witch hazel pads after each bowel movement, and ice packs may also help to relieve the swelling.
Your doctor may prescribe other forms of treatments. You may receive prescription cream to help with the discomfort. It is important to have a complete examination, as some hemorrhoid conditions are not severe, yet others may require surgical intervention. Only a doctor can determine the severity of your condition, and can properly advise you on what to do.
