Corporate Business gift giving is a well establish and reliable method of promoting your business and helping you maintain good relationships with clients. So it is important to take some time to make sure you choose the perfect gift. Giving a bad or inappropriate business gift can have the opposite effect you are trying to achieve. The type of corporate business gift you give depends on many factors, including what type of business you have. There are many choices available to you and many ways to get it wrong, so here are a few tips to help you when deciding on corporate gifts.
The Right Occasion
Simply handing out gifts whenever you want can look a little suspicious. You certainly do not want to give the impression that you except a client to give you something in return for your gift. The gift should be a goodwill gesture on your part to show your appreciation to that client. It is best to limit your gift giving to appropriate occasions. Such as birthdays, holidays, annual reviews or other special occasions that seem worthy to celebrate.
Be Organized
To keep things organize, create a list of clients. This is a great idea if you have many clients and each one has a different gift. This should avoid any confusion and make sure no one is forgotten. One of the biggest benefits of corporate gifts is word of mouth chatter it can generate. You do not want a valued customer hearing about gifts you distributed but you failed to send them anything.
Types of Gifts
It is always a good idea to keep the types of gifts related to the type of business you have. It can make deciding what to get easier and it will help the client remember your company in a positive way. Of course promotional gifts tend to have company logos or other information on them, that is fine for pens, mugs or key chains. But it is not a good idea for the more expensive gifts. Luxury gifts make a very good and lasting impression. You do not want to ruin the gift by engraving your company's address on it. Instead, it is best to hand write a personal message or leave a business card.
When giving out business gifts, whether luxury or practical, make sure they are of good quality. Also, you need to respect the customs and ethnic traditions of your clients. Even small businesses have a global client base. So it is important to know these ethnic traditions and give gifts that do not offend anyone. For example, food is a popular choice many companies give out. Ensure your food choice is acceptable to those you are receiving it.
What ever gift you decide to give, it is best to plan ahead; check out various purchasing options and do not give the same gift all the time. Keep in mind, corporate gifts are meant to impress a client and build good, lasting and profitable business relationships. So you need to make them interesting and memorable.
