The human resource department off late has become one of the indispensible parts of an organization. In case of a large organization, a human resource person is expected to carry out myriad tasks of the company. While an HR manager has a lot of authority and power in his hands, a HR director is the ring master of the whole managing department. On the other hand, a trainer manager, recruiting manager and a compensation manager are the sub posts that come under the strict supervision of the managers and the directors.
For the smooth functioning of a company, the HR generalist employs certain strategies so that they can resolve any management crisis and also make the two ends meet. The host of activities that an HR person has to execute are recruiting fresh employees, chalking out the payment and salaries of the professionals, they monitor performances, resolve management and union conflicts, maintain harmonious customer relationships and perform other such valuable functions. An HR assistant on the other side may have to do the paperwork, payroll and administrative jobs for the company.
The HR department employees apart from having intelligence and accuracy, should have a quick presence of mind when it comes to solving union and management conflicts, should be clever enough to smoothen the transactions of the company and should have the potential to analyze the efficiency of an individual. The HR is supposed to maintain healthy public relations and a peaceful working environment.
The HR also acts as strategic partners to the company who give advices regarding the business plans of the company, on how to improve the performance of the individuals, and chalk out strategies to reduce the cost involved in the production and in the hiring process. An Hr consultant advocates healthy employee relationship, lay down the terms for an effective communication and goal settings. They act as mentors to the other professionals who work under them. For the betterment of the company, an HR professional should possess excellent interpersonal skills to attract customers and persuade them to buy their products. They should also arrange for presentations and meetings so that they can increase their sales and profits. The jobs and responsibilities that the HR department has to perform are far more than any job that any specified department of a company does. A person with an HR management degree is subject to a very high post and a thick salary.
