If you’re looking for a new construction home in Mt. Pleasant, SC in the $400-700K price range, Hamlin Plantation should certainly be on your list of communities to consider. Hamlin Plantation is one of the most popular new construction neighborhoods in Mt. Pleasant because it offers a lot of house for the money, great amenities, and a nice upscale atmosphere.
Over the years, when home buyers have told us that they need as much space as possible, we’ve found that Hamlin is often a good solution for them. Most of the houses for sale in Hamlin Plantation have anywhere from 2500 to 4000 square feet. Also, most of these have either 4, 5, or 6 bedrooms.
Although you’ll find this kind of square footage in other Mt. Pleasant neighborhoods, few offer the quality of construction compared to Hamlin Plantation. Most of the homes were built by John Wieland, one of the best large scale residential builders in the tri-county area. Home buyers tend to especially like the hardy plank siding (also called cement plank siding), the functional floor plans, and the classic Low Country styles (many of which have double front porches). John Wieland offers some of the most popular upgrades like ten foot ceilings and site finished hardwood floors. Also, if you’re looking for a home with the master bedroom downstairs, you’ll find lots of good options to choose from.
In addition to the home selection, buyers are also generally impressed by the shared spaces (or community spaces) throughout Hamlin Plantation. This neighborhood has one of the most impressive entrances in the area, with plenty of space set aside from the road to the homes. And, once you enter the community, it’s well maintained and has plenty of green space throughout. Almost all of the subsections in this neighborhood have their own designated park. And, you’ll find that the community has been designed so that as many of the homes as possible overlook these parks, giving views as well as a sense of space and privacy for these home owners.
Hamlin Plantation has some of the nicest amenities in Mount Pleasant. A beautiful plantation-style club house is often rented out for wedding receptions and other parties. You’ll also find a pool with a splash area, 3 tennis courts, boat storage, walking trails, and a kids’ play park.
Located about 15-20 minutes from downtown Charleston and 10 minutes from the beaches, Hamlin Plantation is just off Rifle Range Road in Mount Pleasant. Be sure to talk with your real estate agent to see all of the options currently available since there are pre-owned homes as well as pre-construction!
