Many people have started growing marijuana indoor in the United States because of the DEA’s efforts to curtail outdoor cultivation. Most of the growers of marijuana usually cultivate cannabis in the closets, fish tanks and elaborate greenhouses. There are also marijuana growers who even built structures which appear like real homes but lack interior walls, just to hide their marijuana growing operations.
According to the sources, more than 71 million people of the United State above 12 years of age has tried marijuana as of 1998, which is more than 25% of the total population. However, frequent usage of the marijuana is lower than it was in 1979, when 13.2 % of the national population of United States above 12 years of age was using marijuana on a monthly basis. But in 1999, it was declined to 5.1 %.
People use marijuana in different ways and the way in which it is used actually determined the amount of chemicals transferred into the body. Let’s check out the most common methods of using marijuana right here.
Cigarette – Cigarette or what we called joint actually dried marijuana buds are rolled into the cigarette and used it. Roughly 10 to 2 % of the THC is transferred into the body when this joint is smoked.
Cigar – Many of the users also slice open a cigar, remove the tobacco and refill it with marijuana. The marijuana filled cigar is simply referred to as blunt. This is another common method of using marijuana.
Pipe – You must have already seen people smoking pipes of tobacco, however, this pipes are also often used for smoking marijuana. This is also common method to use marijuana by many marijuana users. In this method of smoking marijuana, around 40 to 50 % of THC is transferred into the body.
Bong – Bong are basically water pipes that typically has a long tube that rises out of a bowl-shaped base. Water pipes trap the smoke until it is inhaled, which raises the amount of THC intake. This method of using marijuana is also quite common among the people.
Food – Some users also baked marijuana into foods, such as brownies or brewed as tea. This is also another common way of consuming marijuana.
Marijuana is widely used in some or the other ways. Its usage crosses all racial as well as economic boundaries, but it is highest among younger generation. As a matter of fact, purchasing and selling, using or growing marijuana is illegal in very part of the United States. However, penalties differ from one place to another, but generally consist of jail time, a fine or both. In some states, you can even be arrested for just being in a place where you know drug activity is taking place. The severity of penalties usually varies on different factors like quantity, selling, growing and location.
