Theme Parks normally pop into your head when thinking of family holiday ideas, and they can be extreme fun for the whole family. If you reside in Australia or that is your planned travel destination, then make sure that you visit the Gold Coast of Queensland, for it is most certainly the theme park capital of Australia. Gold Coast is a city on the southeast coast of Queensland, Australia, just south of Brisbane. The area has gorgeous white sandy beaches, leading resort accommodations, lots of fine restaurants and some of the most popular family theme parks in Australia.
The Gold Coast is a great destination to escape from the office or your normal work routine and enjoy a family vacation or much-needed holiday. Theme parks come in various sizes and shapes, but one thing every one has in common is that they are sure to offer countless hours of family fun. Both young and old will laugh and smile and remember their unique time here for years to come. While not everyone may agree on which theme parks are Australia's best, the Gold Coast offers many popular ones, and these are certain to be on many people's list.
Dreamworld - Probably the largest theme park in Australia, Dreamworld has been supplying family entertainment for over 30 years. The park offers something for everyone and includes the Big 6 Thrill Rides, Family Rides, and Kids Rides. The park is comprised of several themed areas: World of Wiggles, World of Wildlife, World of Nickelodeon and World of family Fun. All these areas has fantastic rides, attractions, food and shopping.
Whitewater World - In 2006 Dreamworld broadened their attractions by opening up this unique water park adjacent to their existing theme park. The park includes both family friendly attractions and intense water slides. Rides include The Wedgie, The Bro, The Green Room, the Super Tubes Hyrdocoaster, The Rip, The Little Rippers, and the Temple of Huey. Some other attractions are the Nickelodeon Pipeline Plunge, Wiggle Bay, the Cave of Waves and Surf School.
Sea World - Experience the wide range of underwater attractions, pleasurable rides, interesting and exciting displays, and some of the Wild Sea World Animal Adventures. Get up close and personal with many of the marine animals at Sea World. Other adventures include helicopter tours, whale watching, and cruise tours
Warner Brothers Movie World - Motion picture magic comes to life at Warner Brothers Movie World park. Enjoy Scooby Doo and the Mystery Inc. gang combined with the lovable Looney Tunes characters. The park incorporates many movie-themed rides and exciting roller coasters, along with unique shows and other fun attractions.
Wet 'n' Wild Water World - Positioned right next to Movie World, this park is probably the largest water park in Australia. It includes around ten different thrill rides, and lots of superb water slides, pools and more. Young kids will love splashing around in Buccaneer Bay. You may want to relax on a tube and follow the slow-flowing river to Calypso Beach, have fun in an enormous wave pool, or load up a six-person giant tube and take a ride at Mammoth Falls. Whatever you decide, it should be thrilling for both young and old.
Hopefully, this gives you some ideas for your next family holiday. As you can tell, the Gold Coast has much to offer and it is a favorite for many. There are other theme parks here and in other parts of Australia, but if going to a theme park is in your vacation plans, then one of these could possibly be just what you are looking for. Create memories that last. Have a great family vacation!
