The Entrepreneurial Sprint to a Million Dollars

"I want to be a millionaire," says the aspiring entrepreneur....
Stop talking and just do it.
When I started my company, I was young, eager and talkative until my father gave me a piece of advice that I have cherished over the years. That advice is to stop talking about your business and how great you are and let your accounts receivable do the talking.
For some reason, amateur entrepreneurship is still thought of as entrepreneurship and those who set up lackluster businesses, but who talk and write as if they know entrepreneurship are held as cool, cutting-edge, intelligent and encompassing the entrepreneurial spirit that made America what it is today.
However, these talkers are eventually exploited when they're 40 years old and don't have a dime to their name.
As a young, aspiring entrepreneur, put your head down and understand that there is no reason that you should ever look for validation from others. You are doing what you're doing because you are passionate about being your own boss, you have realized that you do things differently than others and you are self-reliant by nature. There is no reason to tell the world how good you are before you are truly established. When you do otherwise, the real entrepreneurs will see you for what you are: a talker, not a doer.
Smart people read, highly intelligent people read critically
95% of writers on entrepreneurship, even in most major publications such as the Wall Street Journal and the New York Times, don't know the first thing about entrepreneurship. I have come to see that most editors are good at writing but terrible at recruiting and therefore allow the blind to lead the blind.
In my mind, you should have entrepreneurship credentials that include full payrolls, offices, operations and a real company in order to feel confident enough to give advice to others as to what it is like to be an entrepreneur, how to be an entrepreneur and what types of businesses to start. Otherwise, you're just another individual with above average grammatical skills, and the WordPress template website with "virtual employees and offices" that don't exist, but are discussed to validate your expertise.
Get the "I don't feel like doing" philosophy at of your mind
If you are an aspiring entrepreneur because you have a true passion for X, Y or Z business, that is the perfect reason to start. However, as you dig deeper and begin your company, you are going to realize that there is a price in order to pursue your passion. Entrepreneurship requires things such as cold calling, 18 hour days and swallowing your pride for a few years as you climb to where you want to be both in life and professionally.
When I was starting, I made a decision to make search engine optimization my primary marketing and advertising strategy. I got a list of roughly 1000 US colleges, looked at each one's career website and proceeded to cold call each and every university that would possibly link to Kasplacement.com in order to obtain dot-edu links. I was never treated so poorly in my lifetime. I remember feeling depressed, down on myself, frustrated and full of anger that I've never felt before. Now, I could have the jobs of those career center folks. The important part is, I bit the bullet and did what I didn't want to - but what I had to do.
As an entrepreneur, you will never get to the end zone without running through the offensive line and linebackers.
