b. Staying genuine and friendly: A business that can develop an amicable relationship with the Facebook users has a greater chance of successfully promoting its products. It is vital that the small businessmen develop a friendly relationship with the users (without giving up professionalism completely). At the same time, they must stick to the basic principle of utmost good faith, sincerity and genuineness. Trying to hoodwink the prospective client by providing misleading information will spell doom to the business in the long run. Hence, the business needs to present itself as a friend that promises help and use in the future. Some small business owners commit the grave mistake of hounding the users by sending dozens of mails and messages. Such unnecessarily aggressive marketing can be annoying to the users who may develop a grudge, dislike or even staunch hatred for the brand. Facebook, on contrary, is to be used to spread subtle awareness about the brand and slowly befriending with the masses and it should never be used for in-your-throat marketing.
