This deciduous tree has glossy, slender, leaves, bright red flowers and bears an edible fruit, pomegranate, between the size of lemons to grapefruit. Pomegranates have a thick reddish skin with, approximately, 600 seeds. In the northern hemisphere, this fruit is in season from September to February, in the southern hemisphere from March to May.
