A projection screen usually consists of a surface and supporting system on which the projected image can be viewed by the audience. The basic purpose of projection screens is to display the image flawlessly to the viewer. They are used in a movie theater in the form of eternal screen which is installed firmly on the wall. Sometimes screens exist as semi-permanent form which is portable like the one used in conference room. In case of outdoor theater you need to construct a screen for short basis.
The brightness and clarity of the screen depends on several factors like ambience of light, intensity of flow of light and the source from which the image is created. In some places you can see flat screens and in others curved screens are used for varied purposes. For viewing the film in a theater the screen can be positioned in two fashions. One is by using the rear projection screen in which the projector is placed behind the screen and the other is front projection screen where the projector is placed in front of the screen.
In the front projected screens the mechanism of operation is very simple. The screen reflects the light projected on them thus forming the image on the clear background. The front projected screens are available in portable models which can be carried wherever you go and in permanent models which is installed in a theater. Most of the screens are wall mounted to facilitate the view of the picture or movie for seated audience. In some research stations the screens are mounted on ceilings which the audiences have to look lying on the ground at their back. If you want to use the screen for showing a movie then front projection screens can be installed eternally on the wall. There are models of screens in any shape and sizes. You have square screens, rectangular screens, oval shaped screens etc. It is possible for you to make an order for having customized shape and measurement of the screen.
In the rear projection screen, need a clean surface behind the screen to keep the projector for giving suitable reflection. The space should be completely dark or else you can use a mirror system for reflecting the image from far off distance. Generally square shaped screens are widely used for presenting data in a company where overhead projectors are used for reflecting the image. Earlier, electric screens were used in home theaters for commercial usage. Now people use High Definition TV screens for watching movies on home theater.
