Why I Chose Surgery To Correct A Deviated Septum

For years I dealt with an obstruction in my sinuses. I never apparently distinguished what the obstruction was. My left sinus had a smaller opening and was difficult to breathe through. I had considered the expression labeled "deviated septum" but I was not at all sure if that was indeed my difficulty.
Then one afternoon, I was forced to front my setback from a health standpoint. I was at a street light when all of a sudden my nose started to bleed for no reason. The nose flow of blood was quite severe and I had a rough time making it to quit. I made a decision that same afternoon to make a doctor appointment since I was assured I had a major conundrum with my sinuses. I just could not pay no heed to such a nose bleed. As a matter of truth, it disturbed me.
I went to an ear, nose and throat physician who took one look inside my sinus and told me I had a deviated septum with close to a 90% air obstruction. He told me not to be bothered since it could be surgically reconstructed. I was happy but also a bit fearful at the same time. I have exhibited this circumstance since I was born. A lot of people get deviated septums as the result of some sort of injury. I have never had a fractured nose or any damage to my nose.
In my instance, the cartilage that runs the length of the center of my nose was contorted in such a way that it developed the obstruction. My physician requested a CAT scan of my sinuses. The examination came back and revealed a lot of difficulties with my sinus canals. He promised me that he could remedy the problem with a operation that would take roughly one hour. I scheduled my sinus operation immediately.
The actual operation is called Septoplasty. A big name for nose surgery. Keep in mind that this is not any type of reconstruction surgery. Your nose will look the same after surgery that it looks going in. All of the work is performed on the inside. I just prayed it would correct my struggle in breathing.
The deviated septum had other consequences for me my full life. I have experienced from unceasing sinus infections for as long as I can think of. I regularly get 3 or 4 sinus infections per year. That means there are so many days in the year where I feel unhealthy that I can't even count them. My family physician has had to intensify the intensity of the medicines he prescribes over the years. It sounds as if I was getting immune to the effects of weaker medicines.
The good news is that my operation went supremely well and my deviated septum treatment has healed. I feel like a brand new person with all of the extra air going through my sinuses. I want to encourage you to see your medical doctor if you exhibit any type of nasal difficulty. A minimal operation could change the quality of your life eternally.
