Since the Labour government withdrew funding for undergraduate degree courses, students around the country have been faced with serious financial woes. After the subsequent uncapping of tuition fees, the predicted average student debt for a 2012 entrant now falls somewhere around the £50,000 mark. With such a huge number of young people going through university and accruing enormous debts along the way, it can hardly be surprising that an increasing number of graduates are suffering from financial stress and even stress-related illnesses.

Perhaps the best method of avoiding financial hot water is to keep debt under control. Easier said than done, you might think, but whilst for some students a part-time job during term time is out of the question, it can often be sustainable for humanities students with less intensive contact schedules - and almost all students have this option upon returning to the family home for the holidays. Even in the current job market, there are some opportunities for both students and graduates to reduce the amount of debt they must face.

Not all jobs are suitable for students. Those that come with short-term employment contracts and few commitments outside of working hours are probably amongst the most suitable and desirable for students who still want to have some time to themselves. Field marketing jobs fulfill all these criteria and come with the added bonus of providing valuable work experience in a competitive industry that offers positions at all salary points.

If the prospect of reducing that mountain of student debt sounds appealing to you, you can find many opportunities advertised online by various marketing agencies that operate in this country, such as Cosine UK. Field marketing agencies employ people from a diverse range of backgrounds to perform a wide variety of different tasks. These can range from offering customers at a grocery store some free samples of a delicious cheese, to appealing to pedestrians in a town centre on behalf of a major charity. Whilst field marketing jobs are not suitable for everyone, they are generally suitable for people with previous sales experience or a natural selling ability.

Of course, some students would rather devote all their time to studying whilst at university, and that is an attitude we wholeheartedly endorse; nevertheless, if you are one of the many students who finds themselves with a great deal of spare time on their hands, you might be better off applying to work with a field marketing agency or one of the many other businesses offering temporary and part-time job opportunities to students. The downside of having to work during your 'spare' time will seem far less significant when you graduate with fewer financial obligations than many of your peers.

Cosine UK are an industry leading provider of field marketing jobs, a number of which are appropriate for students. As one of the most successful field marketing agencies in the country, Cosine UK is well placed to help you tackle your student debt.
