Have you or your child wondered if headaches come from poor vision or other eye troubles? In order to see clearly, both eyes must move in the same way at the same time. This is executed when one eye muscle pulls in one way and the muscle on the opposite side relaxes. Your mind sees images in 3D because your eyes see objects from different angles and each sends a distinctive picture to the brain. This is called Binocular vision. Your eye muscles are constantly trying to maintain your binocular vision. When these muscles are overworked or if they are not working in conjunction with each other, this can actually cause eye strain and headaches.
Another eye related cause of headaches occurs with refractive errors. As light enters the eye it is focused on the retina to provide a clear picture. Each of your eyes will send a picture too the mind, so when one or additional of your eyes have refractive errors, your mind will have to strain to produce clear results. It's not one object, but the strain of your eyes constantly sending blurry pictures to your brain. Headaches occur when your eyes have to strain to produce a clear picture from the refractive errors.
If you're concerned about your vision being the cause of your headaches, seeing a qualified eye doctor could put your thoughts at ease. Eye tests will help determine whether your eyes are simply under stress, may diagnose eye trauma, or simply reveal that you require eyeglasses, contact lenses and in some cases, eye surgery.
Do you see spots? Flashes of light or feel dizziness? If your eyes are frequently itchy, watery or overly dry, it may be time for your annual eye exam (or your children's eye exam) to keep your eyes healthy.
kids that sit in the back of classrooms may complain about fuzzy vision, or headaches, or other eye issues. Watch your children for unusual activity. Do your kids squint when reading, watching TV, or playing sports? Do your kids rub their eyes, blink excessively, or complain their eyes hurt?
An eye doctor can help take the worry away with proper eye tests, which are generally carried out in under an hour in the office. If you or your youngster needs glasses or contact lenses, there are many options, styles of frames and sunglasses that you can choose from.
While some kids feel self-conscious wearing eyeglasses or may not like the way they look in glasses, contact lenses can offer an exceptional option. Contact lenses can improve how kids feel about their look, boosting their self-assurance and self esteem. If they participate in sports, clearer vision through contact lenses can even help their performance with better hand-eye coordination.
