There aren’t too many of us that haven’t had the opportunity to take CPR (Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation) training. It may have been at school, the neighborhood Y, at a local swimming pool or at the office. CPR training is intended to provide you with the skills to perform life-saving actions to a victim in an emergency situation with confidence. Many times, CPR is crucial to a person surviving before medical attention arrives.
Most First Aid Certification classes include CPR training, and today with the wide use of computers, it has become even easier to become CPR certified online. In years past, it has been necessary to block a whole Saturday or two to three evenings for the classes. The current online first aid training now includes AED training as well, which is extremely important after the CPR action for a victim that has suffered a heart attack.
Other than learning about artificial respiration and chest compressions, you may wonder what good is first aid training or CPR training. First of all, you not only learn how to perform CPR, but you learn when to perform CPR as well. Not every person passing out is in need of CPR. You will gain skills from CPR and first aid training classes so that you’ll know how to help victims in crucial times. The basic emergency procedures you will learn during a first aid training class will be invaluable.
While you do not need a medical background to take CPR or first aid training classes, they are taught by professionals that have the experience, knowledge and certification to instruct you. The classes are intensive but are valuable when you consider that it can increase the survival rate of victims in a variety of situations.
First aid training and CPR training whether taken in the classroom or as an online course is appropriate for people age 15 and older. Anyone in the childcare field, emergency response teams and even in elderly care should be properly training and certified in first aid and CPR. Improper training and lack of training can lead to more serious issues if an emergency response it handled incorrectly. It has been found that online first aid training and online CPR training offer a more relaxed atmosphere for learning and often provide a greater retention of information.
First Aid certification, CPR certifications and AED certification are only valid, on average, for 2 years. Continued and updated training in these areas saves lives. If you have already been certified and don’t see the value in taking the course again, you should reconsider as many techniques and practices are added as technology and even our knowledge of the human body changes.
It’s never too early or too late to learn more about first aid and CPR. Many fields and organizations now require the proper training including any rescue or emergency response personnel. Relinquish your panic response and get the training and confidence to handle emergency situations by getting quality First Aid Training and CPR training today.
