Avoid Travel During Diarrhea

Vomiting and diarrhea diseases spread primarily by the fact that you get bacteria, viruses or parasites in your mouth. Make sure they are not going there! How-to:
• Wash thoroughly hands before eating.
• Wash thoroughly hands after you have been to the bathroom. This is a social thing, mainly in order not to infect others.
• Do not drink water from other than the bottles you see being opened or water that is boiled and filtered. Avoid ice cubes.
• Avoid ice cream.
• Avoid all dairy products if milk is not pasteurized, or if the milk is stored cold.
• Avoid sauces and desserts that have stood in the heat.
• Do not eat salads and uncooked vegetables unless you are sure it is washed with clean (disinfected) water.
• Let the meat, fish, shellfish and poultry be cooked through or cooked through. Order steak "well done".
• Avoid taking in livestock or wild animals.
Treatment of vomiting and diarrhea:
Drinks: The most important thing is that you drink something, such as clean water, fruit juice or soup, and also make sure to get in you which are salt. Medicine for stomach cramps: Some diarrhea diseases can cause painful stomach cramps. There are medications (belladonna compounds) that suppress the activity of intestinal muscles and thus the pain and that may be purchased at local pharmacies. Do not use in glaucoma and some other (rare) diseases.
Antibiotics: Diarrhea disease caused by amoebas, Giardia and some bacteria are treated with antibiotics. Attempt to get stools examined first so you get the right antibiotic treatment.
See a doctor if...
• There is blood in the stool or vomit.
• There is mucus or pus in the stool.
• You have a high fever.
• You are in poor general condition.
• The patient is a child.
• You have severe abdominal pain.
• You are dried (dark urine, thirst, dry mouth).
