Not too long ago, professional bodybuilders were considered a step above the rest, yet an oddity that most people would admire from afar. Once people realize that bodybuilding can actually help them achieve the weight loss they have always wanted, plus being healthy, it has become more popular each and every year. To be successful at bodybuilding, you need to read and understand the following tips so that you can make the right choices and avoid making the wrong ones.
When you begin bodybuilding, you will realize that staying away from carbohydrates is not your best choice because it is virtually impossible to have significant gains without them in your system. This is because carbs are required to replenish muscle glycogen, which helps in muscle growth and improves performance.
However, not all carbs are equal, in that some types, such as fructose, will be stored as liver glycogen, which doesn't help your muscles at all. You can actually create too many triglycerides in your system if your liver is completely full of fructose. This can get dangerous very quickly because the liver can only store 100 g of this sugar at a time. To properly workout, taking a glucose supplement in order to boost muscle glycogen levels that will help you manifest significant gains which you would not see with fructose.
Cheat days are essential to your success because they provide an essential psychological break, which will allow you to stick to your clean diet, whether you are cutting or bulking.
Each and every week, cheat days must be taken to ensure optimal productivity levels. It may be best to only do a few cheat days a month in order to maintain your cutting at the proper levels. It is very important to ensure that your body does not get used to your workout routine, therefore it is necessary to incorporate these intermittent days off especially when focusing on fat loss. So, go ahead and indulge in anything your heart desires, from ice cream to chocolate cake and pizza, but make sure to get back to your clean diet the next day without fail.
You should never train the same body part two days in a row. This is necessary because if you train the same muscle set for two successive days, the area in question doesn't get the necessary time to rest and mend the damage done during the work out. This repair time is what causes the muscles to grow, which is what you are trying to accomplish. It's ok to train daily, but keep in mind that if you exercise a certain muscle or muscle group on Tuesday, you can't train the same muscle or muscle group on Wednesday. Schedule your workouts accordingly. As an example, if you work on your shoulders today, or your arms, concentrate on your abs or your legs tomorrow. Full body workouts are becoming very popular and a lot of bodybuilders are switching over. If you go to YouTube and search for "full body workouts" you will find many videos to guide you. You only need to train every other day when you use this method.
They say, "wishing won't make it so" and that applies to creating a great body as well. You have to do the work, and it's not always easy. However, in the end the effort will be worth it from many viewpoints, including being healthier than you have ever been before.
