Why Conventional Golf Instruction Doesn't Work?

Golfers pay out more money on instruction, training aids and equipment than nearly any other sportsmen.. The need to advance sees huge quantities of money being spent every year. Golfers spend hours on the range or watching DVDs or reading books in an voracious need to hit upon that magic bullet which will dramatically revolutionize their golf game.
Yet golfers seldom query whether or not any of this "stuff" works. Have you ever questioned why, despite massive developments in equipment, computer and video technology, more instructors and better playing and practice facilities, average handicaps have not got better in the past two decades?
Unfortunately, the problem is modern teaching techniques. The traditional aim of teachers is to achieve a technically perfect golf swing. I'm fairly sure you have all taken a conventional lesson where your pro asks you to hit a few balls which he records and then plays back to you. He will put some lines on the screen to indicate how everything should be done perfectly. He'll split the screen and add in a comparison of one of the world's top players like Matin Kaymer or Steve Stricker so he can compare swings. The truth is that you will never swing the club like either of those 2 golfers because you are not physically skillful to do it.). He'll point out where your swing is going wrong. Your stacne is wrong. Your ball position is incorrect. Your backswing is outside the line. etc, etc.
He'll show you what you must do to rectify your faults. Because so much is wrong you can only fix one thing at a time. What this means is that you are in for several weeks of lessons and several weeks of paying out several hundred dollars with no guarantee you will make much, if any, progress. The problem with this process is this.
You have now seen where you are going wrong and your teacher shows you what you have to to do to correct your swing. You'll play a few more shots and he'll play them back to you. You will see some immediate improvements and you'll feel good about it. You may hit some out of the middle and think to yourself, "This really works," Great stuff and you hand him over another $30 or so. You'll have a couple of things to practice for next week.
Guess what occurs over the next week? You are psyched up to go and practice or play. Within a short period of time you will be back to where you started. The problem is that you haven't got anyone to keep an eye on what you are doing. You can't tell how you are swinging. You are trying to keep to your instructors advice but you cannot tell if you are succeeding or not. The chances are you will gradually revert back to your old swing problems without even realizing it. Because it will be a week before you see your instructor again, all you do is reinforce your old bad habits. So you are back to square one.
The problem with conventional teaching is that you have no means to know precisely what you are doing. You don't have cameras or instructors with when you are playing or practicing. You have no reference point. You are unable to check what you are doing. All you will accomplish with this method will be to decrease your bank balance while making little or no improvement.
A much superior choice is to use a teaching program which permits you to understand your swing sequence and then you will be able to quickly correct any faults. You require something which is simple, understandable and, most importantly, something which you can self monitor. Imagine what used to occur. You are playing a round of golf and all of a sudden you start to hit a lot of errant shots. You have no idea how to sort out the problem. How good would it be to be able to know exactly what is wrong and then fix it immediately.
It is believed that having a good golf downswing is the secret to playing great golf.. There is more to it than that. Would you like to be able to improve your handicap dramatically in as little as 2 weeks? Go to [http://www.golfdownswinginfo.com](http://www.golfdownswinginfo.com) now.
