Mistakes made during BJJ Training

Martial arts is a combination of training the body and mind to excel in the art. making it easy to succumb to fatigue if you lose your focus. If you're preparing to train for Jiu-Jitsu, it is important to condition your mind and body before facing the challenge.
The principle of Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu revolves around full-contact grappling. That is why you need to have an alert mind and a fit body to ensure safety and endurance while training.
For a Martial Artist to succeed and develop his skill, the following should be avoided in training:
Don't overlook the importance of what your eat and how much rest you get.
Since you will use a lot of muscle strength when training for Jiu-Jitsu, you will need a diet that is high in protein and lots of rest to fix up your tired muscles. Not following this guideline will turn a good workout into a slow and sluggish chore.
BJJ training will burn a large amount of calories in a short period of time, and that's why it's important to eat healthy to maintain energy levels. Feeding your body lots of proteins and carbs will keep the muscles supplied and increase your energy level. It is important to get at least 6-8 hours of sleep to allow your muscles the time to repair and rebuild.
Jeopardizing safety to avoid a bruised ego…
You need to be sensible and disciplined when training for something as physical as Jiu-Jitsu. Don't be too eager to prove something when nobody really expects you to. Besides, at this point, you're still lacking in skills to attempt to be bold.
Remember you always have the option to tap out. This is training to develop skill not a competition. The right time will come when you'll be able to show them off in competitions. Meanwhile, check your ego and don't sacrifice your safety. Most importantly, learn from your mistakes.
Studying Jiu-Jitsu…
The main thing to focus on when training Jiu Jitsu is to learn a little something and have a good time. Every time you go to your training classes, it must be because you're interested to learn and not just because you have already paid for them. When you're in your classes, don't be afraid to participate. Otherwise, you will only be wasting your time and money. Observe how others move on the mat so you can formulate your own technique.
Not accepting defeat…
Naturally, you will experience a lot of losses while training. And when you lose, your body is going to feel it. The first couple of Taps will bruise the ego just as much as the body. Accept defeat gracefully and never give up training. Best of all, practice proper breathing. This will clear your head and relieve stress while on the mat.
Stick with It...
Brazilian Jiu Jitsu is something you are going to have to work at, it doesn't come easy. Stick with a routine and watch as you skill level goes up in short period of time. Stick to the days you scheduled. Don't miss a class or fail a workout session. However, don't push yourself. Learn to balance your personal schedule and Jiu-Jitsu training.
The requirements to excel in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu are intense but do not forget to relax and enjoy. From time to time, reevaluate your reasons why you want to get involved in this form of martial arts. It is physically demanding but when you're really serious about it, the compensation is well worth the effort.
