Local time on July 11, AC Milan officially announced the new joining of new halfback Acerbi. In the news conference, he appeared in the AC Milan shirt and he admitted it is great honor for him to join AC Milan, the former soccer star George Weah is his idol. In the new season, his goal is to compete for the league title together with his teammates.

The 23-year old Francesco Acerbi is 1.92 meters tall and plays for the halfback. Last season he played for Chievo team in Serie A. In the 2011/12 season, Acerbi played 17 games for Chievo and scored 1 goal. His appearances were basically concentrating in the second half of the league. For his stable performance, AC Milan finally decided to introduce him. According to the "transfer market", Milan spent 3.5 million Euros to sign him from Chievo. Due to his tall stature, Acerbi is regarded as the successor of Nesta and AC Milan has great hope for him.
