Sailing holidays are very similar to safari trips. It can be expensive and a one-time thing, but the experience will be one to remember for the rest of your life. An experience that can provide much more than sightseeing. Many often fall in love with the experience and become a slave for the sport or adventure that each of these can provide. Whether it's sailing in an ocean or driving through deserted plains in an open top Jeep.
Let's forget about the safari analogy and focus more on sailing holidays and adventures. Which are often over looked, and can provide an experience that allows anyone to achieve complete isolation whilst allowing for reflection and relaxation. One of the key decisions will be to choose who to bring with you, this can range from family members, wife or even going it alone. No distractions and no problems. With the added bonus of 100% privacy and no competition for a great spot, something that when visiting the beach is a common problem for most people. Consider this option as creating your very own island in the sea.
The next most important decision is to decide on a location. Fortunately there are a large selection of marinas and locations that provide sailing and yachting options around the world.
Its important to remember that although yachting and sailing are the most popular choices when venturing out into the Mediterranean sea. There are alternatives available such as catamarans. Each of the options available for the beginner to those more experienced.
Mediterranean sailing provides many hidden gems from hidden coves to the best marinas. All of which can be found throughout Greece, Turkey, Mallorca, Italy and Malta to name a few. Providing plenty of areas to explore and discover for the first time.
Perhaps you have a destination that you visit every year, instead of having the traditional holiday, consider researching the possibility of renting a yacht or boat and cover new 'ground'. Making new discoveries along the way.
Another exclusive location within the Mediterranean is the French Riviera. Which remains one of the most luxurious, glamorous and sought after locations for sailing. With its wild and rugged coastline and the exclusive St Tropez on your doorstep.
Hiring a private yacht is the best way to experience this type of holiday at this location. Especially with Cannes, Nice and Monte Carlo within reasonable distance.
Another great and unknown location for sailing is the middle east. An unexpected but exotic location with plenty to offer, especially the varied marinas that are very popular among the wealthy, but not limited to.
If you are also looking somewhere to dock your personal yacht, the marinas will be able to cater even the most luxurious mega-yachts. Whilst allowing docking between the many marinas throughout the UAE. Allowing the sea and city to be enjoyed together, whilst providing a high focus on hospitality that cannot be found anywhere else.
Middle East marinas located in Qatar are world renowned in particular and has become one of the main yachting destinations within the Middle East. It features 96 births and can accommodate up to 40 metre boats.
This only briefly covers the vast range of sailing and yachting holidays the world has to offer. With many more hidden gems that are waiting to be found.
