The dreaded essay portion on college applications has made many minds go blank. Many students are clueless about the essay. They ask themselves should they write what they are passionate about or should they write about a topic everyone else is likely to write about. Most applications have five prompts. The first prompt is the one most commonly chosen. The first prompt ask you to evaluate an ethical dilemma, experience, risk, or achievement that has had an impact on you. This article will provide you with essay help.
Before you write the essay, you are expected to think through what you will write. You should have a clear outline of your thoughts before you start writing your essay. When you know what you are going to write, you are less likely to be stopped by writers block in the middle of your essay. Most people are stuck during the pre-writing phrase because they do not know what the college admission counselors are expecting from them. This article will guide you through the prompt, so you will know the proper way to answer the question.
Before you start thinking of an outline for your essay, you should read the prompt at least three more times. Read the words, listen to the words, and pick out the meaning of each word. The next thing you need to do is think of an experience that is important to you. It does not have to be a huge success. It can be a small thing that has had an impact on you. When you have chosen an experience, you should ponder what about the experience had an impact on you. The experience will be the central point of your essay.
While you are thinking about the experience, reflect on the person you are. What makes you unique as a person? Brag about yourself. How do you usually feel about situations? This is where you let the admission counselors know who you really are. Your transcripts show the admission counselors what you can do academically, but your essay tells the story of who you are. It reflects your personality. You should not think about what the admission counselors want to hear, you should think about yourself. You should not think about how other people what feel about this situation because their opinions do not matter. The only thing that matters is how you felt about the situation that had an impact on you.
Think about the small things that make you who you are. What is your favorite song? What is your favorite TV show? The things you like make you who you are. Think of the things you like and dislike. What would you like to improve about yourself? The answers to these questions will help you answer the essay prompt. Think outside of the box. Admission counselors want to know that you can think outside of the box. You are more likely to be accepted to the college of your choice if your essay shows that you think outside of the box.
